Catamaran Sailing
Lifetime Adventures
Description
The Dazcat Ocean Cruiser builds on our signature of magnificently fast and comfortable passages with great average speeds, arriving fresh enough to enjoy your destination with everything you need on board…
This is where the word ‘luxury’ would often be used, but here at Dazcat luxury is that thing that is totally invisible and undefinable – the sheer gratification of being on board a supremely crafted boat that inspires confidence. Every detail is by design to provide this hard-to-find experience. Now, imagine yourself anywhere on the boat as it’s sailing – lying on the net perhaps, or snuggled up with the family in the saloon, seated at the interior helm station next to your loved one, alone on the aft deck or enjoying the cooling breeze in the forward cockpit…Wherever you are, you can trim all the sails and adjust boat heading using your remote control. You can even stand on deck to park it if you prefer that over the masthead cameras and good all-around view from the internal helm station.
Of course, to fully enjoy the truly sensational Dazcat Ocean experience of fingertip control you can always turn off the autopilot. The main helm and navigation station is comfortably situated forward in the saloon and provides great visibility while fully sheltered from the elements. Opening doors and windows leading to the forward cockpit mean you can still get that open air feeling when you want it. The stunning 1m carbon wheel pivots from side to side to vary your position and allow you to helm from the open doorway, or for two people to sit together. There are also also twin wheels in the aft cockpit for those moments when you just want the full Dazcat sailing experience.
Once comfortably seated in your position of choice and the autopilot is off, the warm polished carbon under your fingers is superbly smooth to touch and immensely light to handle even when cruising at speed…The instant response even under load adds to the immense pleasure of sailing the Dazcat Ocean Cruiser.
To achieve this the interior helm station and carbon wheel is linked to carbon shaft and cable drives directly onto quadrants connected with a physical carbon tie bar to the all-carbon rudders and self-aligning bearings.
To feel the wind on your face you can open the windows, sail remotely from the forward cockpit or take the wheel in your hand on the aft deck. The living areas are bathed in natural light and windows and doors provide great visibility around the boat. The overall feel is warm and comfortable in a clean modern style that is practical and easy to maintain. Essentially, this space is insulated by the composite reinforced foam sandwich construction.
Helping to keep things even cooler are shaded saloon windows and the ability to deploy the forward canopy to provide maximum sun protection and opening the saloon up fore and aft to promote natural airflow. This reduces need for the aircon when cruising in the tropics though of course it’s there if you need it.
Distinct areas within the boat enable easy movement and crew interactions during social times, preparing and sharing meals or sailing the boat. Large sliding glass doors to the covered aft cockpit and BBQ area can greatly extend the galley and saloon and add to the indoor/outdoor living feel. Crucially, the layout also means you can easily find that all important personal space away from others when you want it. The two cockpits, small office area and cabin layouts mean this is always possible. The forward cockpit seating converts to a sunbed where, deliciously, you can also sleep out under the stars…
Cabin options depend on owner preferences. In this three-cabin model, the owner cabin has a massively comfortable 2 x 2m bed, plenty of storage of different kinds, seating and a small work-station for private online meetings. The other hull has both a double cabin and a convertible bunk room to accommodate shorter term visitors and provide flexibility for storage and systems zones. We are also happy to talk about two and four cabin options.
The galley is big, sociable and has plenty of storage. It’s designed to be always efficient and useable. A two-burner electric hob and combi microwave/ oven/ grill/ steamer will meet all of your cooking needs. Add in fridge, freezer, pressure cooker, toaster, blender, kettle, coffee machine, dishwasher, outdoor BBQ area and you have every pleasure a cook could possibly need including your own herb and micro-greens’ garden. All without the hassle of gas or noise and fuel consumption of an extra generator.
The Dazcat 55 Ocean Cruiser will carry two tenders – one rigid carbon fibre lightweight OC 400 with carrying capacity for longer trips and a 25hp Yamaha. The other, an inflatable for visits to the beach with E-propulsion Spirit 1.0. It will also be able to carry pump up paddle boards, kayaks and dive and snorkelling equipment to make the most of time on anchor.

I'm interested in buying this catamaran but have questions
There are many ways to buy a catamaran and the procedure varies between manufacturers. It's a process that takes time and you should not be afraid of starting talks with the manufacturer.
Here are some common questions you might have:
Can I afford it? Talk to the manufacturer and they can advise you on financing options.
Can I sail it? Arrange a test sail with the manufacturer, or ask them directly what kind of support and education they offer for boat buyers.
If you need anything else, be it more details, an introduction to the manufacturer, a shipyard visit, a test sail, or help with customatization, let us know on the Help Me page after clicking below and we’ll help you take the next step.
