Description

The Lightwave 46 caters for the adventurous sailor with exotic locations in mind. Sleek eye-catching appeal, relatively fine sea–kindly hulls, ample payload provision, centralised weight dispersion, excellent beam to length ratio, and impressive bridgedeck clearance are critical design factors to the proven success of the Lightwave 46 Sailing Catamaran.

The Lightwave 46 is a proven blue water performance catamaran, designed to optimally negotiate ocean going passages with minimal effort in absolute comfort. Easily handled by a cruising couple, it manoeuvres responsively and makes good passage distance to safely get you to your destination quicker.

At 7500kgs lightship, the Lightwave 46 is the lightest production cruising catamaran in its size range. The unique monocoque construction method ties interior composite furniture & parts into one extremely strong structure, highly resistant to torsional loads. The Lightwave 46 is configured as standard, to suit a cruising orientated sailor. Mini keels protect the sail drive legs and rudders, allowing the catamaran to be beached. The aluminium rig & fore-beam, dimension flex ultra-laminate sails, and foam core fibreglass construction will satisfy most seafarers, however if additional performance is desired, a comprehensive range of options are available.

Safety is prioritised and cleverly incorporated in the 46 design. With an emphasis on extended cruising, the design considerations and build quality of the Lightwave 46 aim to meet world class safety standards and incorporate key design features for safe blue–water cruising.

The Lightwave 46 offers a variety of layout options, allowing for a high degree of customization. The Owners hull, port side is complimented by an additional starboard side guest cabin forward & an aft cabin (two singles converting to queen). With exquisite soft furnishings and timber features, the cabins provide the ultimate escape at days end. The Lightwave 46 is easily converted from an entertaining masterpiece to a place of tranquility with intoxicating comfort. The expansive cockpit/aft deck area provides sheltered outdoor dining and lounging areas, protected from sun, rain and wind. The central cockpit table can be raised up and out of the way when not in use. Under seat is generous stowage, with additional 140L top opening fridge/ freezer located under the helm seat. Distinguished from its unique double deck design, two rows of windows run along the length of the Lightwave 46 contributing to its sleek head turning appeal. Accommodation spaces are filled with natural light and vast views at eye height within the hulls. The stepped deck design allows for much greater head room (up to 6’6” in saloon and 6’9” in hulls), and noticeable head clearance when stepping down into the hull areas.

I'm interested in buying this catamaran but have questions

There are many ways to buy a catamaran and the procedure varies between manufacturers. It's a process that takes time and you should not be afraid of starting talks with the manufacturer.

Here are some common questions you might have:

Can I afford it? Talk to the manufacturer and they can advise you on financing options.

Can I sail it? Arrange a test sail with the manufacturer, or ask them directly what kind of support and education they offer for boat buyers.

If you need anything else, be it more details, an introduction to the manufacturer, a shipyard visit, a test sail, or help with customatization, let us know on the Help Me page after clicking below and we’ll help you take the next step.
